Principal's Message

Tarita Lowery

Principal of Childs Elementary School
Dear Parents/Guardians
I would like to welcome you and our scholars to the 2020-2021 school year! I hope you had a great summer despite all that is going on in the world. Who would have ever thought that our school year would begin this way? School is one of the most important things in a child’s life. It not only helps students learn necessary concepts and skills, but it also allows students to interact with other students socially, academically, and emotionally.
Our scholars will remain at home and our teachers will provide virtual instruction from inside their classrooms. Although school will not be the traditional way, we will continue to provide an education that is set on high standards for all. With this new way of learning, our focus will be to ensure that every child is finding a way every day to feel connected. We want them to be challenged with new learning and new experiences, so they know that there is a champion advocating for them.
Our skilled and devoted staff are planning and preparing learning opportunities that encourages motivation, curiosity, and a pathway to success. The remote path of learning will require our scholars to be resilient and parents/guardians…We Need You!
Our scholar’s success begins with these expectations during remote learning:
·         be in attendance daily
·         ask questions especially when you need help
·         complete assignments, manage tasks, and due dates
·         be organized and prepared
·         be respectful to yourself, your teacher, and peers
·         get the proper amount of rest
·         stay focused, on task, and report any concerns to the teacher
All this and more are a recipe for success. I thank you in advance for being positive with your scholar and helping him or her understand the importance of an education. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask and I look forward to us navigating our new normal together.
Your Partner in Education,
Mrs. Lowery
